I’ve never been. I just looked it up and was like, “sure why not?” Bit of a drive, including a 1 hour or so on a winding gravel national forest road that my pickup did not care for.

Did you go for a hike or just to check out the scenery? Glad you got up there before the weather turned to shit.

Yeah! We took the Blanca Lake trailhead. 8 miles round trip, 27 switch-backs, three mile rise than a steep descent down to the lake (I have beautiful photos of it, I just chose to not spend a large amount of time on a post 15 people would read). It was brutal for us (we are not in the beat shape of our lives).

8 miles is pretty burly. I know I couldn’t do it.

The third gen wasn’t marketed or named “Stout” in North America. Its proper name in N.A. actually was “Pickup”. 2nd-gens were called Hilux here, and 4th- & 5th-gens were called “Truck”.

Re: my previous post, I see that 3rd-gens were also called “Truck” in addition to being called “Pickup”.

I always liked the “truck” name. Most people just call them hilux.
